The "Fashionably Late" series pays tribute to bygone icons & artists with a satirical poke at celebrity obsession and the sensationalism of death. Popular culture crafts shimmering disembodied hero brands for us to worship. We create a cultural currency by declaring that our subscriptions to these various brands are a reflection of our identities and hold value. While our relationships with these brands can feel real, particularly when they die, we don't personally know the human beings behind the characters. Their deaths merely become an ironic rebirth into the realm of pop immortality.
